Lo Fat

This is some throw aways from a video game project I was involved with last year. Some fun stuff, even the rejects...hope to show them as soon as I'm allowed. You know how them NDAs go.

A couple designs I did for the GI Joe Movie from last year. I haven't seen the movie, so I have no idea how many if any of my designs got used.

Big Iron

Throughout the process of this project Marty Robbins was a big inspiration with his wonderfully storied songs.

Braddock PA

Was out shooting some ref today.
Historic Broddock pa. Time capsule. Location of Levi's current advert campaign. Only it's sexy here in a different kind of way.

Still horse

I yearn the land
unshackled of want
I rely my horse and him on me
we take from the land that which we need
the way of the bear the buffalo the wolf
to live the vast expanse where the blue and green are one
speak life's language
hear its murmurs and secrets
fortune of experience
become who I am

Marvel Heroes

So a while back, around 03 I did a piece where USVP was launching a female indoor volley ball league. As part of the promotion they sanctioned Marvel Comics to do a promo poster having the heroes, spectate or participate in a game. I'm not sure where it went, but a friend of mine who is a volleyball junkie and a comics nut saw this piece as nirvana. He bought the original drawing and later asked me to do up sort of an embellished piece for him. Well, finally got around to it. Basically just a water color wash over some ink lines. It's funny going over old work such as this. It's quite a lesson learning from my younger self.

Superman: Harmony

A little study I did a couple years back. Trying to get a feel for this character; in a way to understand him. It's also an exercise in three dimensional composition. Classically we see composition on a 2 dimensional surface, where the shapes and bodies tend to interact with each other in a 2 dimensional manner....typically up down or left to right, but hardly forth and back. A few newer generation artists flirt with the idea, but generally sacrificing the up down, left and right concept. It's an intriguing concept which I hope to explore a bit more in the future.

Speaking of The Future...this along with most of what you see on this blog is compiled in my latest sketchbook "The Future"
