The Flash

Commission piece from many years ago. Finally got around to finishing it. The flash is the hardest guy to draw. All he does is run. Wonderful concept but difficult to convey. How do you make a single image move? It's one thing to draw it well, it's another to give it life and meaning. Creative process can be found in my artbook DOPE.

New Tank

Trying out a new tank. Gotta make that black tank fit better...Gotta cut a gutter to have it flow better...supposed to be my long distance tank. . It will change the overall feel of the bike so a lot has to be done to harmonize the design. thinking 21 inch front wheel and some 10 inch apes.

More Infamous 2 concepts. Forgot the direction behind this guy, since the work was completed 2 years ago. Had fun playing around with these guys nonetheless. My favorite thing about this project is how dark the subject matter usually is. Bit of a contrast to my usual bright tropical disposition.

Infamous 2: Guns

So Infamous 2 is out! I was fortunate enough to lend my services in designing some of the characters in the game. This was a fun project as the guys over at Suckerpunch productions always give me blue sky to just go. I got a slight description of a few of the characters, but I'm usually told to just let loose. In tern, some of my designs help to inspire the writers and develop the story of the game. Over the next couple days I'll be posting a few.

Power Girl

Layout for a Commission. Playing with the idea of giving her some sort of character, less another super chic with big titties. I like how her costume harkens back to 50s swim suit...so inherently she lends her overall feel to that time period.

Couple shots of a typical summer weekend in the Burgh.

Static Shock Surfer

Another Static piece...played around with styles a bit on this one. I felt the previous was a bit stiff and burdened with intentions. This was to strike somewhat of a balance.

Charlotte Trip

This is right after my impromptu oil filter change on my way to Charlotte. Seems I had to re-use the old O-ring in my oil filter, which had a bit of a kink. I didn't realize this until 100 miles deep into the trip and 4:00 in the morning. After my first stop for gas, leaving the gas station I felt the rear tire slip and then my right foot covered in oil. I pulled off on the off ramp only to see oil pouring from the bike. Pulled my tools and searched in the dark with my cell phone to find the wrench to tighten the filter nut, which was nowhere to be found. Loaded the bike and pushed her back up the hill to the Gas station while trying my best to stay out of the way of the 18 wheelers passing by. Needless to say by the time I back to the Gas station I was spent. Spent the next 3 hours asking everyone who stopped for gas for a tool or 2 to help me pull this filter nut. Eventually a guy named Jared came by to give me a hand. He actually got on his back under the bike to help me pull this thing...not surprised considering he was wearing a Jimi Hendrix T-shirt. He Also gave me a ride a mile down the road to a NAPA where I got the 85 cent O-ring. Swapped the new one and cleaned up my back tire as good as I could. The next 360 miles was spent at 115...my girl was purring like a kitten. Got into Charlotte about 1:30. Good Day!
