De Puniet

15 minute speed paint! :p

More in the speed paint series. Since I'm a car and bike nut...figure I'd do speed paints of them at speed. 18 mins in Corel Painter. Got to play your game.

Du Hamel

Figured I'd change the pace up a bit and post some speed paint. Did these a while back as some warm up to get in the zone. You can learn a lot from these because they offer you no time for second guessing and over thinking. It's fairly paint what you see...allowing the piece to almost reveal itself. This is one of the ways to prove to yourself that you can draw/paint...something that plagues young artists. This piece was around 20 minutes done in Corel Painter.

Jean Rooster

Had a pet rooster when I was kid in Jamaica. I found him as a lil chick and raised him. I was so proud of that mug and used to love when he'd beat on other people's roosters. lol His name was Charlie. :D

Piece from a project a few years back. Got to break out my fashion sensibilities with this. Sparked a flame to be honest. :D

Further proof that drawing can solve all your problems.

Some brush play on this piece. I think to really get a hang of using the brush is to go super long hours; like 12 hours minimum. By around the 8th hour you'll start to get a good feel and start to dance with it. The last 4 you get to show off and throw it around like a pro. The density of the ink is important as well as the quality of the brush. I suggest the best brush you can find.. Windsor-Newton watercolor sable is a good start. Try different mixture of ink and water as well...the thinner the ink the easier it is to move.
